Mr Mobolaji Lawal is the Managing Director and Regional Executive of Ecobank Nigeria Limited, one of the affiliates of Ecobank Transnational Incorporated, a leading Pan-African Banking group with business outlays across 33 African countries, United Kingdom and Europe. Widely respected as a digital transformation specialist, Bolaji has over 28 years experience across the entire banking spectrum. His versatility as a senior banking executive spans digital and retail banking, corporate and commercial banking, credit risk management and corporate finance. At Ecobank, Bolaji is championing digital transformation on a Pan African scale, relying on his decade-long expertise of retail and digital banking strategy to pioneer new products and solutions that will help widen access to digital financial services in Nigeria and beyond. As an investment banker with a track record of structuring million-dollar deals, he is also positioning Ecobank as the preferred financial partner for cross-border trades and for businesses looking to expand into Nigeria and Africa. Bolaji holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria; B.L. from the Nigerian Law School and a Master of Business Administration from Oxford University, United Kingdom. He has also attended several executive management and banking specific developmental programmes at leading educational institutions including Harvard Business School, Stanford Graduate School of Business and Institut Européen d’Administration des Affaires (INSEAD). Bolaji’s approach to leadership is anchored on a digital-first business and strategic growth mindset.
